Global Intimate Wear (Q): We all know that you majored in drawing and visual arts in university. Why do you devote yourself in this field?

Florence Peyrichou (A): Drawing and visual arts are in close attach with dress and fashion. As a woman, I have an instinct for lingerie. In my senior high school, I began to keep my mind on art. And in university, I often browsed famous international underwear's official website. I love this field. Thus I am enthusiastic and passionate in my jod.

Q: Do you think there is any life style and design concept affect apparel and underwear industry? How do they reflect in lingerie trend autumn/winter 2011?

A: After the economic crisis in 2008, people's dressing style hasn't changed a lot. There are four principle themes of lingerie trend autumn/winter 2011. Two of them, "On Stage" and "Atelier", are giving a guidance to designers. "Atelier" is a theoretical and impressionistic design concept. The kernel is adopting various factors to piece togther and present a brand-new style. While, "On Stage" is filled with a sense of drama and the living theatre, which is good at adopting a disguised and exaggerated way to create delicate products, for instance, lingerie made of muslin and embroidery. Besides, both of Avatar and Alice in Wonderland give us inspirations, which are reflected in other two themes "Elfland" and "Northen Kingdoms".

Q: How do you to gain inspirations in your daily work?

A: I will travel around other countries each year. It will inspire me a lot. I will read some magazines and watch movies. David Hamilton and some other famous photographers' works give me a lot of inspirations. Avatar impresses me with its 3D images. Besides, I will go to galleries and Expo, just as Belgium Pavilion in Shanghai Expo displays an architectural style.

Q: As far as we know, after the economic crisis, some famous brands have turned back to a natural and simple style, such as Chanel and Christian Dior. Is this contradictory to your opinion?

A: No, it's not. I think, after the financial crisis, the situation seems quiet, which gives designers a good opportunity to innovate. You should seize this opportunity, dare to innovate and create something unique. This concept also inspires our lingerie trend forecast of autume/winter 2011.
