KMD SS12 Lingerie: Deville Pantygirdle
We have to admit that several international lingerie brands, say Triumph, Eveden and Victoria's Secret, own numerous fans around the world. However, there is a kind of force called independent lingerie label, always surprising lingerie lovers with lovely whimsies.
Today, we are thrilled to introduce you a vintage-inspired indie lingerie brand from UK. Some may have heard its name before, Kiss Me Deadly, which is eponymous as a classical movie in 1955.

G: Please tell us background about Kiss Me Deadly?
C: Kiss Me Deadly is an independent boutique brand based in the UK. We've been going for about 5 years.
G: Why Kiss Me Deadly is described as "femme fatales"?
C: A femme fatale is a particular type of character from a film genre – film noir in the 40's and 50's. So, it's the era we take our inspiration from, but unlike other retro brands, we're not pin-up or kitsch, we're very much from the more sleek and sophisticated side of things! Femme fatales were dangerous, complicated, and clever.
G: Where does your inspiration come from?
C: We often use images of lingerie from the 40's and 50's, but we don't follow the fabrics or constructions from then as they were quite uncomfortable – especially as women are usually a different shape now!

G: We can see metal clip, weapon and the style of England skit and parody from your designs and the photo shoots. Why you would come up with these ideas?
C: The metal clips are an essential when you wear stockings, so they could get put in when it's a garment for stockings.
The English skit and parody – well yes, it's a personal trait that ended up as a key part of the brand, I guess there just aren't enough fashion brands around with a sense of humour!
G: Which piece is your favorite in 2011 Kiss Me Deadly collection?
C: I think my favourite is definitely the Vargas Pantygirdle – a very highwaisted knicker with a full rear. I wear it quite often, anyway! But we developed lots of new ranges last year, so it's hard to choose.
G: Please tell us something about your upcoming designs? Will you add some new elements to them?
C: In 2012 Kiss Me Deadly bring you super villains and twisted fairytales, with Spring a selection of delicate peach and ivory mesh, satin and lace with a barely there look even for shapewear. Autumn moves into jewel toned ruby in the seductive Sirena, cobalt blue taffeta with vintage dotted net, velvet trims and a sweeping sheer robe.

G: Will Kiss Me Deadly participate into any lingerie shows in 2012?
C: Yes, we will be at the Salon in Paris – 21st to the 23rd January, and also Moda in the UK from the 19th to the 21st February. We usually do Moda again in August and I will be in Paris for Mode City too.
G: Will Kiss Me Deadly enter into any other regions besides UK in the future?
C: We already export to most of the world, (the US, Australia, Jaoane, Barzile, Russia, most of Europe) but this year we are specifically looking at building our US sales.
G: Here comes a little bit private question! I know M. E. has been disturbing your life since a few years ago. Did you learn anything valuable from these inconveniences?
C: Yes, if you are still healthy you should do anything you want to that physical while you still can!
G: How could lingerie lovers purchase Kiss Me Deadly?
C: Both our own website and theJoanna's Wardrobe website hold a wide range of our styles and ship worldwide.
