Taiwanese exports of textile goods during the first five months of this year increased by 25% year-on-year to US$4,549 million. Exports to Mainland China (the largest market) climbed 25% to US$1,009 million, followed by those to Vietnam (US$612 million, up 33%), Hong Kong (US$600 million, up 19%), the U.S. (US$381 million, up 14%) and EU (US$252 million).
By item, exports of textile fibers grew by 60% to US$507 million, along with those of yarn by 37% to US$902 million, and fabrics by 20% to US$2,681 million. Meanwhile, exports of apparel (including accessories) decreased by 2% to US$299 million.
