"Fast fashion" which means that clothing collections are designed and manufactured quickly, with affordable price, is aimed at mainstream consumers; it's otherwise known as "throw away" fashion. It is considered to enjoy a vast market potential and ample room for development, as first-tier cities are not completely saturated and second- and third-tier cities yet to be tapped.
It is reported that many people in the second-and third-tier cities have plenty of spending potential but with limited places to consume.
When many foreign garment retailers rush to China’s “fast fashion” market, domestic apparel brands also gear up to join the race.
Vancl, a famous online garment retailer in China, has invited famous mainland writer and celebrity Han Han and teenage idol Wang Luodan to be the face of the brand.
In May and June, Vancl’s outdoor advertising billboard can be seen everywhere on the metro and public transport systems in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. More importantly, the advertisement has successfully triggered a round of topics on the internet. And many mainstream media have reported this phenomenon on newspaper, magazine and websites.
