Brandix Lingerie will manufacture products for the likes of UK retailer Marks & Spencer.
Top Sri Lankan apparel exporter Brandix has announced that it will be expanding its lingerie business through the launch of new, specialist division, Brandix Lingerie.
The decision was made after the group gained full control over two joint venture factories and purchased a third facility late last year.
The new Brandix Lingerie division will manufacture ‘high end speciality bras and complimentary co-ordinates’ for the likes of Marks & Spencer, Victoria’s Secret and H&M.
It will be seeking to increase its 2,600 staff by 20 percent in the second half of the year and is currently considering acquiring further capacity, according to Brandix Lingerie chief executive Rajiv Malalasekera.
Brandex has already spent on machines to make speciality lingerie and has also invested in a joint venture at Brandix India Apparel City in Andhra Pradesh to make bras.
